Making AI images usable for print and cutting
AI image generators produce raster files, usually PNG or JPG at a fixed pixel size. They are great for ideas, but when you need to print a large banner, cut vinyl or hand a clean file to a supplier, pixels are limiting. Vetorly rebuilds the image as shapes with smooth Bézier curves and few nodes, with each color as an editable shape, so you can scale and edit it like any other vector.
Generate with vectors in mind
The easiest conversions begin with the prompt. Ask for flat colors, bold outlines, a limited palette, a plain background and a simple composition. Words like sticker, logo, icon, flat illustration or line art tend to produce more traceable images than realistic or painterly styles. Check your generator's terms and the licensing rules for commercial use of its output.
The gradient limit
Vector fills in this workflow are flat colors. Smooth gradients, soft shadows, glows, grain and photo-like textures cannot be reproduced as a single smooth fill. They turn into stepped bands of flat color, which can look like a posterized graphic. That is sometimes attractive, and sometimes not. If the effect is wrong, regenerate with flat shading, or paint the gradient back on in your vector editor.
Clean up the image first
- Use the largest output or upscale from the generator before converting.
- Remove or simplify busy backgrounds.
- Check for artifacts, such as garbled text or extra fingers, which a vector will faithfully copy. Fix them in an image editor beforehand or edit the shapes later.
- Prefer PNG over JPG when you have the choice.
Review the vector
- Zoom in to confirm edges are smooth and crisp.
- Look at how many shapes were created. Very detailed images make many small ones, which can be heavy to edit or cut.
- Delete the background shape if you want the artwork alone.
- Test the artwork on dark and light backgrounds.
Text inside AI images
AI-generated lettering is often malformed. Tracing preserves the errors, so replace the text with real type in your editor.

Quality
Vectors that look hand-made.
No jagged outlines, no thousands of nodes. The AI understands the drawing and rebuilds every shape properly.
Real shapes
Circles become circles, rectangles stay rectangles. Straight lines stay straight, corners stay sharp.
Few nodes, smooth curves
Bézier curves with the fewest points possible. Light files that are easy to edit.
No gaps between colors
Neighbouring shapes fit perfectly — no white hairlines when you print.
Fine detail
Sub-pixel precision that keeps small text, sharp tips and transparency.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will gradients in my AI image survive?
Gradients become stepped flat-color bands in a vector. For smooth blends, regenerate the image with flat shading or add gradients back in your vector editor.
What prompt style converts best?
Flat colors, bold outlines, a plain background and a simple subject, such as a sticker, icon or logo style, convert better than realistic images.
Does it work with images from any AI generator?
It works with any PNG or JPG you upload, whichever tool created it. Check the generator terms for commercial use.
Are my AI images used to train anything?
No. Uploads are never used to train AI. Unpurchased images are deleted within 24 hours.
Is the preview really free?
Yes. Upload and see the result for free. You only pay to download the clean file.
Which formats do I get?
SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF and high-res PNG. One credit unlocks every format of that image.
Does it work in Illustrator and CorelDRAW?
Yes. Open the SVG, EPS or PDF. Inkscape and Affinity work too.
Cricut, Silhouette and cutting plotters?
Yes. Use the SVG (or DXF in Silhouette Studio). Shapes come separated by color.
Laser and CNC?
Yes. Download DXF or SVG for LightBurn, Glowforge, RDWorks and CNC software.
Which images work best?
Logos, icons, illustrations, drawings and art with clear shapes. Photos work too, with a more artistic look.
