From paper to a scalable vector
Drawing by hand has a quality that is hard to fake, but paper does not scale. A vector version lets you enlarge a sketch for a poster, cut it from vinyl, print it on a shirt or reuse it in a logo. Vetorly converts your photo or scan into shapes with smooth Bézier curves and few nodes, with each color as a separate editable shape. The quality of the photo matters a great deal, so spend two minutes getting it right.
Best drawing materials
Black ink on white paper gives the best contrast. Fine liners, brush pens and markers work well. Pencil is harder: it is pale and uneven, so go over it with ink first or darken it in an editor. Colored drawings convert, but each color becomes a flat area, so soft shading turns into bands.
How to photograph a drawing
- Use daylight near a window. Avoid direct sun and avoid using a flash.
- Lay the page flat. Curled paper bends lines and creates shadows.
- Shoot straight above. Keep the phone parallel to the page so the drawing is not distorted.
- Fill the frame. Get close enough that the drawing takes up most of the picture, but keep the whole drawing in.
- Lock focus. Tap the drawing so lines are sharp.
A flatbed scanner is even better if you have one. Scan at a high resolution.
Quick clean-up before uploading
- Crop to the drawing.
- Raise contrast so the paper looks white and the lines look dark.
- Remove ruled lines or grid paper if you can, since they may be traced as shapes.
- Do not over-sharpen, which adds noise.
What to check in the result
- Compare line weight to the original. Thin pen strokes become filled shapes, so they should still look like the same line.
- Look for paper texture specks and delete them.
- Inspect joins where strokes cross. They should look natural.
- Check enclosed areas in lettering to make sure they are still open.
Keeping the hand-made feel
The AI follows the edges it sees, so wobble and variation in your line are preserved. If you want a neater look, smooth the curves in your editor afterward. Quality
Vectors that look hand-made.
No jagged outlines, no thousands of nodes. The AI understands the drawing and rebuilds every shape properly.
Real shapes
Circles become circles, rectangles stay rectangles. Straight lines stay straight, corners stay sharp.
Few nodes, smooth curves
Bézier curves with the fewest points possible. Light files that are easy to edit.
No gaps between colors
Neighbouring shapes fit perfectly — no white hairlines when you print.
Fine detail
Sub-pixel precision that keeps small text, sharp tips and transparency.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I vectorize a pencil sketch?
It is harder, because pencil is pale and uneven. Go over the lines with ink, or raise the contrast before uploading.
Should I use a scanner or my phone?
A flatbed scanner is ideal. A phone works if you use even daylight, hold it straight above the flat page and keep the drawing in focus.
Will the result keep my line style?
Yes, the AI follows the edges it sees, so natural wobble is preserved. You can smooth it further in a vector editor.
Is my drawing kept private?
Unpurchased images are deleted within 24 hours, purchased ones are kept for 30 days, and images are never used to train AI.
Is the preview really free?
Yes. Upload and see the result for free. You only pay to download the clean file.
Which formats do I get?
SVG, PDF, EPS, DXF and high-res PNG. One credit unlocks every format of that image.
Does it work in Illustrator and CorelDRAW?
Yes. Open the SVG, EPS or PDF. Inkscape and Affinity work too.
Cricut, Silhouette and cutting plotters?
Yes. Use the SVG (or DXF in Silhouette Studio). Shapes come separated by color.
Laser and CNC?
Yes. Download DXF or SVG for LightBurn, Glowforge, RDWorks and CNC software.
Which images work best?
Logos, icons, illustrations, drawings and art with clear shapes. Photos work too, with a more artistic look.
